Juanita Laló

Hand-made musik for the soul

Latin Folk and Jazz

Music is the hope, the way out, the way in. Is an adventure where the artist shares her soul and the listener comes along, and shares back without knowing.

This second Album is also a collection of our own compositions and texts, and the result of the joy of playing it together in this wonderful ensemble of talented musicians.

Juanita LalÓ – Lead Vocals, Percussion
Oliver Lepinat – Piano
Daigo Nakai – Double bass and E-Bass
Shinichi Nakayima – Drums and Timbales
Marcel Donoso – Congas and Percussion
Nils Marquardt – Trombone
Peter Schwarzt -Trumpet, Flugelhorn and musical direction

We are also grateful for guest contributions from: Damian Sardo – Guitar, Backing Vocals; Juan Otálora – Congas and Ronan Bonagamba – Pandero, Percussion.

An album with such diverse content guarantees entertainment and offers something for everyone: something to dance to and something to reflect on; beautiful and profound lyrics; rhythms that are so diverse! From salsa to funk to Brazilian ciranda. We therefore recommend listening to the whole Album. Behind every song there is a story, an experience, something that AI cannot replicate. Enjoy!

Short Bio

Juanita sings her own songs and original compositions from her fellow musicians. You will also find in her covers a unique rendition of well known songs and old re-dicoveries. She writes her own texts and music, and has also written text for other composers among them Julian Gretschel and Peter Schwarzt. A fan of vocal improvisation, Juanita is constantly exploring paths to create and communicate.

Her music is real, unedited, making her live sound and the studio sound very close to each other. Her portfolio is of great diversity, offering a range from fast-paced dancing music to more nostalgic slow tunes. This gives her flexibility also as performer, for different audiences and different ocassions.

You will find her on stage in different formations: single, duo or with her own Band, Juanita LalÓ & Friends. This Ensemble of 7 amazing musicians is her favourite environment and is the best sound for her music. The current crew includes Daigo Nakai on bass, Shinichi Nakajima on drums, Oliver Lepinat on piano, Marcel Donoso on percussion, Nils Marquardt on the trombone and Peter -Don Pedro- Schwarzt on the trumpet.

She has collaborated with many different ensembles among them The Flintsones Big Band, Riff and La Caravana Mestiza, and is a supporter of the Kreuzberger Musikalische Aktion e.V.

Music is the hope, the way out, the way in. Is an adventure where the artist shares her soul and the listener comes along, and shares back without knowing.

Listen

Here you will listen to the lyrics to Lazos Invisibles,  a song I wrote in memory of my good friend Thomas Stanger, and the promise I made never to forget him.
